Sweet Potato Crumble

6 large sweet potatoes

½ cup butter, softened

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp allspice

¼ tsp cinnamon

¼ tsp nutmeg

Salt and cracked black pepper to taste

for the crumble:

¾ cup flour

½ cup brown sugar

½ cup butter, melted

¼ cup pecans, toasted & chopped

pinch salt


Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180C. Grease an ovenproof baking dish.
Step 2
Wrap the potatoes in foil and place in a baking dish to bake for about 1 hour, until you poke the potato with a fork and it is tender.
Step 3
When cool enough to handle, remove the skin and mash the potatoes. Add the butter, salt, allspice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Season to taste with salt & pepper. Mix well, then spread the potato mixture in the prepared baking dish.
Step 4
In a small bowl, combine the flour, sugar, butter, pecans and pinch of salt with your fingers until clumps form.
Step 5
Sprinkle over the potatoes and bake for about 40 minutes or until the crumble topping is golden. Decadent!
